Congratulations to Daria Godfrey who recently completed her university course work, and thereby earning her certificate as an Elder Care Coordinator. The Covid-19 slowdown provided the perfect opportunity for her to add to our firm’s knowledge base. This is not an area that most estate planning law firms venture into, or even most elder law practices for that matter. But we are always looking for ways to increase the quality of our Sideline to Sideline Planning Process™ and this has been a winning addition.
Protecting assets and providing care for loved ones is what usually begins the planning process, but as we get older and live longer, our focus shifts to more immediate needs. Planning for declining health is a natural complement to our mission of creating smooth transitions for client families. Especially for ones who may not have members living nearby, and therefore not sure where to find good help, or able to keep an eye on things. Our Life Care Plan is ideal for someone recently diagnosed with a long-term illness and unable to live at home anymore without assistance. It also looks for ways to pay for long-term care.
Daria assures us that she will continue to make her Ukrainian Easter eggs for our new client families. An ancient art form handed down by her mother at whose funeral this picture was taken. A fitting venue for sporting cultural reminders of who we are and where we come from. It is not only comforting to know we are part of something bigger – it is also true.
