Easter traditions are a source of resiliency for the human spirit. They remind us of who we are, thereby helping us to get back up after a fall. This results in the confidence that we can weather whatever difficulty may arise in the future.
Our new client gift is the Ukrainian pysanky. A handcrafted Easter egg that is the manifestation of a millennial-old Tradition that has survived many setbacks. It is a symbol of life, an expression of esteem, and a wish for fecundity and protection. It transforms the natural elements of egg, beeswax and dye every Easter as a reminder of how Jesus’ Passion, Death and Resurrection can transform our lives. Eggs, like people, do crack, but only people can fully recover. As our Easter Traditions remind us, we can bounce back even better than ever!
Daria Godfrey and Tess Cassady gave a live demonstration of this ancient art at our offices, an opportunity that WNDU-TV captured for their nightly news. (Watch news clip here: Ukrainian Easter Egg demonstration at Godfrey Law Offices) They, and a couple of my granddaughters joined me on my Redeemer Radio show The Sandwich Generation. You may listen to the podcast at: Resiliency and the Easter Spirit

While not as striking as the transformation of Easter, Estate Planning can improve your family’s experience by providing smooth transitions during the foreseeable set-backs inherent in this life. And if we decide to work together, we will be pleased to present you with your choice of one of these beautiful heirlooms to include in your own family’s Easter tradition.
Happy Easter and Happy Holidays!
